The experience
Xenotes Oasis Maya is a full-day excursion to visit different types of cenotes in the Riviera Maya. Cenotes are natural freshwater sinkholes formed in limestone, sacred to the Maya and today one of the region's great attractions. Here you explore them with adventure activities, in a small group and with a certified bilingual guide.
On the route you visit different types of cenotes: an assisted rappel descent into a cave cenote; ziplines and high jumps in an open cenote and in an ancient cenote; a kayak ride in a semi-open cenote, and exploratory swimming in another semi-open cenote. At the exit of the first cenote there are non-alcoholic and hot drinks (chocolate champurrado and coffee) and seasonal fruit.
The picnic includes julienne-style soup, a cold bar of premium meats and cheeses, rustic breads and dressings so you can prepare your own food, accompanied by salads, water, wine and beer. Equipment is included: life jacket, mask, rappel gear, kayak and tube, plus restrooms, changing rooms and a towel. Professional photos and tips are not included.
The minimum age is 5 and a life jacket is required. It is not recommended for people with heart or back problems, asthma, diabetes or hypertension, and it is not suitable for pregnant women, since there is physical activity and demanding movements. The price includes round-trip transportation from Cancun and Riviera Maya hotels. Bring a swimsuit, change of clothes, water shoes and biodegradable sunscreen. Children 5 to 11 pay the child rate. This tour does not run every day: pick your date in the calendar and an agent confirms with you on WhatsApp.
