The experience
Xcaret is the best-known eco-archaeological park in the Riviera Maya and a favorite stop for visitors to the Mexican Caribbean. It brings together underground rivers, a beach and cove, a reef aquarium, a butterfly pavilion, local wildlife and spaces that recall Mayan culture. With the Basic option you enter the park and its 50+ attractions on your own, at your own pace, with no fixed itinerary.
You can spend the day swimming the three underground rivers, visiting the Coral Reef Aquarium, the Butterfly Pavilion and the Aviary, walking the tropical jungle trail and watching the Equestrian Show, the Papantla Flyers and the Pre-Hispanic Dances. The little ones have their own space in Kids' World. As evening falls comes the highlight: Xcaret México Espectacular, a night show with music, dance and horses that tells the history and customs of Mexico. Your ticket includes the show, plus life jackets, floating tubes, sun loungers, hammocks and showers.
The Basic ticket does not include food, drinks, snorkel gear or lockers, so it helps to decide ahead whether you will bring your own plan or buy inside the park. If you would rather have the buffet meal, drinks, snorkel gear and locker area sorted from the start, Xcaret Plus is the better choice. Optional activities such as dolphins, Sea Trek or Snuba are paid separately, as are photos, souvenirs and tips.
To enjoy it more, bring a swimsuit, towel, change of clothes, sandals or water shoes and ID, and use only biodegradable sunscreen, the only kind allowed. You can go with admission only, or choose round-trip transportation from Playa del Carmen or Riviera Maya hotels, with morning pickup and return after the show. Children 5 to 11 pay the child rate, and ages 0 to 4 are free. Pick your date in the calendar and we confirm with you on WhatsApp.
